Pink Depression Glass Starburst Pattern 3-Part Relish Candy Dish and Metal Basket Flying Birds Basket Holder Vintage Tableware Serveware

This delightful 3-sectioned candy or relish dish is perfect for serving candy or nuts. Also great for displaying earrings or jewelry. The gorgeous pink depression glass has a starburst design and the chrome basket is truly unique, if you look closely, it is decorated all around with an ornate cutout design of flying birds. The chrome handle folds down when not in use and the basket has three ball feet. Measuring 5 1/2 inches in diameter and 1 3/4 inches high, not including the collapsible chrome handle.

Condition: Some obvious signs of wear, this piece dates back to the 1930s; the glass insert has a couple of rough spots on the edge in some places (likely from the metal basket it sits in) if you rub your hand around the edge. The metal holder is also quite oxidized/tarnished/discoloured (green) in a few places, especially around the areas where the handles attach to the base of the carrier. All things considering it is a lovely piece and the pink glass is just so rosy! Add a bit of vintage style to your home or delight a friend with this charming gift. You can fill the sections with individually wrapped candies. Please refer to the pictures as they are a part of the description. If you have any concerns about the condition or you require more detail I can provide additional photographs on request.

Frequently Asked Questions

Care instructions

Most vintage and antique glassware should be hand washed only and not in the dishwasher; especially any pieces with graphics or colourful patterns, for example Pyrex, Fire King, Glasbake, Corelle, drinkware, etc. Dishwashers can dull the finish on these unique pieces and cause premature wear to the surface and patterns or cause what is known as DWD or Dishwasher Damage which is irreversible. It's always better to be safe and wash by hand if you can.

Add some dish washing liquid into a sink or basin and add warm water. Placing a towel underneath can help to avoid breakage. It is best to use a damp cloth for any pieces with hand-painted decorations to preserve the art as even regular hand-washing can degrade these over time.

Does your store offer local pick-ups?

Absolutely! If you would like to coordinate a local pick-up in Durham Region you may either purchase the items and send a note after the fact to request a pick-up and we will then refund your shipping costs; or you can send a message prior to the order to request the local pick-up and we can remove the shipping costs on the items you wish to purchase. Ordering the items immediately will guarantee availability; this is the ideal method to ensure your selection(s) are not purchased by someone else in the interim, in case we do not respond to your inquiry soon enough (we will respond within 24 hours; however, we may not be available at the exact moment of your message)
