Vintage Pyrex Butterfly Gold 2 Casserole – 2.5 Qt Round Dish with Lid

$74.80

Bright, warm, and beautifully nostalgic, this vintage Pyrex Butterfly Gold BG2 round covered casserole brings a sense of sunshine straight into the kitchen. Produced by Corning between 1979 and 1981, this later evolution of the beloved Butterfly Gold pattern was designed by Gregory Mirow and features a delicate bouquet of smaller five-petaled flowers on slender stems, rendered in crisp white against a glowing golden-orange ground.

More refined than its earlier counterpart, Butterfly Gold 2 was not widely applied across the full Pyrex line. Instead, it was reserved exclusively for Cinderella mixing bowls and the 470/480 series casseroles—making this 2.5 quart round casserole (Model 475) with its original 475-C lid both a practical kitchen staple and a more specialized collectible.

Equally suited for baking, serving, or display, this piece captures the essence of late-1970s design—cheerful, functional, and effortlessly timeless.

✨ Highlights:
• Authentic vintage Pyrex Butterfly Gold 2 (1979–1981)
• Designed by Gregory Mirow for Corning
• Distinct BG2 floral bouquet motif
• Colour: white florals on golden-orange ground
• Shape/Size: 2.5 Quart Round Covered Casserole (Model 475)
• Includes original 475-C clear glass lid (complete set)
• Pattern exclusive to 470/480 casseroles & Cinderella bowls
• Discontinued and increasingly collectible

Dimensions:
Capacity: 2.5 Quart
Width: approx. 8 ¾ inches
Height: approx. 3 ¾ inches (without lid)

Condition:
Very good preloved vintage condition. The floral decal remains vibrant and well-preserved, with only a couple of tiny specks of paint loss on the casserole body. The original 475-C lid is also in very good condition, showing minor surface wear consistent with age and gentle use. No chips, cracks, or structural damage.
Complete examples of this form—especially with the original lid intact—are becoming harder to source, making this a standout addition for both everyday use and the dedicated Pyrex collector.

Frequently Asked Questions

US Tariff Update as of September 8, 2025:

De Minimis (Section 321/Duty Free) Entry into U.S. suspended as of Aug 29, 2025; carriers are working to provide a viable DDP-Duties Prepaid shipping solution, US shipping has been temporarily paused for the time-being until more information becomes available on how to proceed moving forward.

I will continue to monitor this fluid situation and provide updates as they become available.

Will I have to pay extra customs duties or import fees if I’m in the U.S.?

No — I ship with all duties prepaid (DDP) for U.S. customers. That means you will not receive surprise bills or added charges on delivery.

Many of the vintage pieces I offer were originally Made in the USA (Pyrex, Fire-King, Corning, Corelle, etc.), which qualify for duty-free re-entry under U.S. trade agreements. I clearly mark these items on customs forms and packaging.

Shipping costs include secure packaging and all necessary customs processing — so once you’ve checked out, you can relax knowing your piece will arrive safely, with everything already taken care of.
